I have always preferred the reflection of the life to life itself.

Ohio Stadium Saturday III

Hello there!
I'm Beth--writer, mom, teacher, meditator, creative. Welcome to my online-room-of-my-own, updated daily or as often as my muses make me. Thanks for stopping by!

Today I started writing the 4th draft of the memoir about losing PM, quitting my job, and becoming a meditation teacher. And this time, I will finish. Are things falling apart? Meditation practice is not the act of sitting still, it’s the invitation to experience the fullness of this gorgeous, iridescent moment with all of our senses. Sitting is the way of tradition, and works well, but there are times when your body craves a shift I want to be in my classroom putting up posters and smelling freshly sharpened pencils, not waiting for a BOE to gaslight us at the bargaining table again. Never imagined I’d be starting a school year on the picket line but here we are. In one split second this morning, I realized I felt fully and completely happy, all the way down into my heart space. I had a cup of coffee, a pen, fresh paper, a text from a friend, and a little time to myself to write. “My feet will want to walk where you are sleeping, but my heart will go on living.”—Pablo Neruda What if I told you that making this reel was not on my list of to-dos today, and that instead, I felt drawn to record a YouTube video being utterly and totally vulnerable about this struggle—of not being enough? While I make these time-lapses of my Morning Page routine public, they're actually the most private part of my day
